Oak Ridge Elementary School, in partnership with home and community, provides a safe learning environment; promotes the cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of our diverse student population; challenges all students to become independent thinkers, responsible citizens, respectful individuals, and lifelong learners as they achieve rigorous academic standards; and prepares all students to effectively participate in our larger global society.

Student Allergies
We have many students that have been diagnosed with severe allergies to common things such as peanuts, fish, tree nuts, milk, gluten, grass, bee stings, etc. Allergic reactions range from mild skin irritation to anaphylactic shock.   Peanuts and tree nuts produce the strongest reactions for our students. Staff personnel have taken steps to keep our students as safe as possible while they are at school, but once again we are asking for assistance from our community. Please screen the items that you send with your child for snack and/or lunch – even trace amounts of the above items can have very serious consequences.  We appreciate your assistance in helping to keep our environment as safe as possible for all of our students.
